Jeanne's recipes : Bourdaloue Tart !


The Bourdaloue tart is a dessert created during the second half of the 19th century in the Bourdaloue street in Paris. It is composed of a sweet shortcrust pastry, almond cream, and poached pears. It’s perfect to end your meal on a sweet note ! Want to make one? Follow Jeanne's recipe!

Ingredients:

- 125g of very soft butter

- 100g of brown sugar

- 125g of ground almonds

- 2 eggsVanilla extract

- 1 sweet shortcrust dough (you can find some already prepared, or make it yourself – there are plenty of recipes on the internet !)

- 1 tbsp of flaked almonds

- 1 large can of pears in syrup


Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven at 180°C

2. In a recipient, stir together the butter, the sugar, the ground almonds, the eggs, a little bit of syrup from the pears can, and the vanilla extract

3. Roll out the dough on a pie pan and prick it with a fork

4. Cut the pears in thin slices, but keep then in their original, whole shape.

5. Put them on the dough in the shape of a star (just like on the picture above)

6. Pour the mix from step 2 on the dough bewteen the pears

7. Sprinkle the flaked almonds on the top

8.Put your Bourdaloue tart in the oven for 35 minutes, until it gets golden.
