Discovering the rare gem in Saint-Ouen

The Marché aux puces de Saint-Ouen (Flea Market of Saint-Ouen) is something you have to experience at least once in your life. It was created in 1885, and gathers 2000 merchants who sell mainly antiquity items, but also pieces of clothing and secondhand items.

It is the first art and antiquity market of the world, with 5000 visitors per year. To go there, Jeanne and Léon go to the Rosiers street in Saint-Ouen, which spreads from Porte de Clignancourt to Porte de Montmartre.

Jeanne and Léon love wandering through the different stands. But at some point, they start feeling hungry. Jeanne has an idea : to eat on the go, what a better option than a Croque-Monsieur ? A Croque-Monsieur is a hot sandwich made with ham and cheese. The dish originated in French cafés and bars as a quick snack, and its first recorded appearance on a Paris café menu was in 1910. The name is based on the verb "croquer" (to crunch) and the word "monsieur" (mister).

After eating, Léon finds an affordable chair at the flea market for their parisian studio. What a good day !
